100 Word Challenge - Moral

A a result of reading While You're Up, my #2 sister's blog, I have decided that I will take Velvet Verbosity's 100 Word Challenge. Posting twice in one day is probably 'never done', but I just didn't want to wait.

This week's word is moral.

I sit on the stool and watch as Mother cleans the already spotless kitchen. The scene brings back memories of bygone days; of a childhood spent in another kitchen. Perched on the cabinet, under her loving, watchful eye, I learned to measure accurately, stir carefully, and that it is sometime okay to modify a recipe. There were many other lessons taught in that small alley gally, as she was fond of calling it. Life has taken us far from that little West Texas town, but the lessons learned there will always be with me. Now, when I have a chance to visit, we talk and laugh and I lend a little moral support while this grand lady goes about her 'kitchen routine'.

What I really want to know is: who gets the bowls off the top shelf for her when I'm not there?

Inspiring to hear about parenting done right, which unfortunately is made more difficult in today's culture. Thank you for sharing that, and glad you joined the 100 Word Challenge!
