2 weeks of Grandmotherly bliss

Of course by the time 2 weeks are up, things might not be so blissful, but so far, so good. It was a loooooong drive back to Scott City from Topeka. The younger two brought a book on CD to listen to, but lost interest after about an hour, so we switched to oldest g-daughter's music CD's. Her tase in music and mine don't exactly match, as you can well imagine, but she was very considerate and tried to find something that we could both tolerate. By the time we had finished the 6 hour trip everyones nerves were a little on edge, and in spite of the snacks during the trip, we were all hungry, too. Hubby and oldest g-son had already eaten, so we headed to DQ for some chicken strips. That seemed to calm everyone down. Now I've got them all showered and ready for bed. It will be wonderful to have them in church with us tomorrow. I had called my assistant to lead the singing tomorrow, so I will enjoy being with them during the whole service. :)

Snacking on the way home (for me) consisted of a bag of dried fruit and 2 bottles of water. Of course the chocolate covered raisins E (oldest) shared wasn't exactly a good choice. :0, but the way I see it, how often am I going to get to share a bag of chocolate raisins with her while walking around Shawnee Lake? We had a great time climbing on the rocks under the bridge, too. Just think, last year I would never have been able to walk down to the rocks, much less climb down them. To me THAT is the biggest victory! THAT is why I have been on this struggle for the past year +.

Thank you to everyone who is offering up prayers for the family of my friend who lost her son.

I think I read that when you share a bag of chocolate covered raisins with a grandchild there are NO CALORIES! See, not so bad!

Hope you have a fabulous time and enjoy many more "colorie-less" foods.
